Niagara – a mid-season climbing bean variety reaching 3.5 m in height. The plant is characterized by green stems and leaves, while the flowers have a light reddish-purple hue.
Beans reach a length of about 35 cm and a width of 1 cm, remaining straight with a beak. At technical maturity, they are green, without a parchment layer or fibers, and the height of attachment of the lower beans is approximately 50 cm.
Benefits: beans can be consumed before full maturity – boiled or fried. This is a delicious side dish with high nutritional value, rich in proteins and microelements.
Care: sowing is carried out in mid-May at a depth of 4–5 cm or via seedlings in April, while the root system is not disturbed. Bean harvesting begins 8–10 days after the appearance of pods; regular harvesting of young leaves stimulates the growth of new ones.
Niagara is excellent for vertical greening thanks to its climbing structure, making it an ideal choice for both garden beds and hanging containers.
