Cultivating Vigna 'Yubileynaya': A Practical Guide

For a commercial grower, 'Yubileynaya' represents a high-yield asset that requires a structured approach to vertical farming. With plants reaching heights between 150 and 300 cm, installing a robust trellis system is non-negotiable. This setup is crucial to prevent lodging and ensure that the impressive pods remain clean and undamaged during the growing season.

Crop Management and Market Value

The variety features a 65–75 day maturation period, offering a predictable production cycle. The standout feature is, of course, the length of the pods, which can reach 60–100 cm. Given their delicate texture, mechanical harvesting is less efficient than selective hand-picking, which is necessary to maintain high market standards.

• Fresh Market: High demand due to the exotic appearance and tender quality of the green pods.
• Processing: The variety holds its structure exceptionally well during canning.
• Freezing: Excellent results for IQF (Individual Quick Freezing), maintaining premium quality.

The variety was developed by the FGBNU Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing. From an operator's perspective, success with this hybrid lies in maintaining airflow between rows, especially in humid conditions, to prevent fungal pressure. Provided it is given adequate vertical space, 'Yubileynaya' delivers a consistent, high-value output that meets the needs of both the fresh produce sector and the industrial freezing market.
