Cash is a fast-maturing, high-yield sweet pea variety, distinguished by its early harvest and uniform pod formation. Plants reach a height of about 70 cm, with green pods up to 10 cm long, containing large, dark green peas with high sugar content — around 6-6.5%. The pods are fiber-free and lack a parchment layer, making them juicy and flavorful. Due to these qualities, this variety is suitable for both fresh consumption and canning.
A distinctive feature of the Cash variety is the ability to consume whole pods including the seeds, expanding culinary applications. They are excellent for adding to salads, vegetable mixes, and can be cooked or fried. Sweet peas are rich in vitamins C, B-complex, E, and K, carotene, and minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium, iodine, and iron. Additionally, they contain protein, fiber, and folic acid, making them a beneficial product for supporting the immune system and regulating blood cholesterol levels.
The Cash variety is recommended for cultivation on sunny sites with fertile, humus-rich, moderately moist soils with slightly acidic or neutral pH. Seeds are sown from March to mid-April at a spacing of 20 cm apart and 4 cm deep. Harvesting can begin as early as early June, gradually every 3-4 days, when pods are fully developed and seeds become palpable through their walls. The package contains 30 g of seeds, along with detailed instructions for planting and care.
