Description Stepoviy
The Stepoviy pumpkin is a mid-late classic variety with a vegetation period ranging from 112 to 138 days, depending on weather conditions. The plant is strong, sprawling, drought- and disease-resistant, making it suitable for cultivation in Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. For planting, choose sunny areas protected from wind; sowing seedlings should be done about a month before transplanting into the soil, typically in April–May. Sowing depth is 6–7 cm, and planting spacing is 50×100 cm.

The fruits of this variety are large, elongated-cylindrical with thickening toward the apex, weighing from 5 to 20 kg, sometimes reaching 40 kg. The skin is thin, fragile, orange-yellow. The flesh is thick, dense, soft, juicy, and sweet, allowing the pumpkin to be used both fresh and for making porridge and juice. Thanks to its good flesh density, the fruits store well for 3–4 months.

This variety is characterized by high yield and versatility. It is suitable for fresh consumption as well as processing — for salads, canning, and pickling. The flesh retains density and crisp texture after processing, making this variety especially valuable for various culinary purposes.
