The Valok pumpkin variety is a mid-late maturing type with a vegetation period of 105 to 120 days. The fruits have a round-oval shape and an average weight ranging from 3 to 8 kg, depending on growing conditions. The fruit color is light gray, and the flesh is dense, yellow-orange in hue with a slightly sweet taste. Dry matter content reaches 7%, total sugar — about 4.1%, and carotene — 2.1 mg%, making this variety valuable for technical and feed uses.
The Valok variety is characterized by high yield and good transportability, ensuring long-term fruit storage without quality loss. Due to these features, the pumpkin is widely used for processing into juice and for technical purposes. Additionally, the variety exhibits relative resistance to powdery mildew, contributing to stable yields and reduced disease risks.
Developed and included in the Ukrainian Register in 1993, the Valok variety is popular among agricultural producers due to its combination of high productivity, disease resistance, and quality fruit characteristics.
