Tulip Jonkheer Van den Bosch

Technical Profile: Jonkheer van der Bosch Tulip

As a hallmark of the 'Triumph' classification, the 'Jonkheer van der Bosch' tulip represents an optimized solution for spring floral production. This variety combines mid-season bloom maturity with high structural integrity, making it a reliable performer in both greenhouse forcing and field cultivation.

Engineering and Morphological Features

• Bud Architecture: The classic goblet-shaped head is composed of dense, leathery red petals. This high tissue density provides superior protection against physical weathering and ensures post-harvest durability.
• Structural Stem Mechanics: Classified as a medium-height variety, Jonkheer van der Bosch exhibits exceptional wind resistance. The stem’s internal vascular structure prevents lodging, which is critical for maintaining commercial quality standards.
• Phenological Reliability: By hitting the 'mid-season' market window, this variety allows growers to balance their harvest cycles effectively, providing a consistent supply of deep red flowers that retain color saturation under varying light intensities.

The agronomic value of this variety lies in its predictable vegetative development. With proper bulb cooling protocols, it produces uniform, high-quality blooms. The color stability is notably high, driven by stable pigment accumulation that resists premature fading. For production, the focus should remain on optimizing substrate moisture to support the robust stem development that this variety is capable of achieving.
