Chrysanthemum Severnaya Patsifika

Frost-resistant chrysanthemums for early autumn production

The «Severnaya Pacifica» (Northern Pacific) chrysanthemum, developed by the Botanical Garden-Institute of the FEB RAS, is a prime example of breeding for harsh climatic conditions. This bushy variety is engineered for those who prioritize reliability and early harvest, as it reaches its peak bloom in September.

Practical use in professional horticulture

• Commercial Cut Flower Production: The early flowering cycle allows growers to bring product to market ahead of late-autumn frosts. The stems are robust, making them suitable for commercial florist requirements.
• Low-Maintenance Landscaping: Due to its exceptional winter hardiness, this variety is an asset for municipal or private landscape projects where annual replanting or intensive winter protection is not feasible.
• Garden Design: It serves as a structural element for late-season color, maintaining garden aesthetics well into the autumn, when most other perennials have faded.

For growers, the key to success with «Severnaya Pacifica» lies in standard but timely agronomic practices: early-season pinching to encourage bushiness and proper potassium-phosphorus fertilization to ensure vigorous blooming. Its resilience makes it a low-risk investment for regions with significant winter temperature fluctuations, offering a consistent return on investment.
