Tulip Jaap Groot

Operational Reliability for Growers

The 'Jaap Groot' tulip is recognized by professionals as a dependable Darwin hybrid, highly valued for its consistency in both forcing and landscape production. For an operator, the primary benefit of this cultivar is its structural uniformity: the stems are of medium height, robust, and predictable, which significantly simplifies handling, cutting, and transportation processes.

Disease Resistance as a Cost-Reduction Strategy

A critical technical advantage of 'Jaap Groot' is its genetic resistance to major fungal pathogens, specifically Fusarium wilt, Alternaria, and powdery mildew. In practical terms, this allows for a streamlined maintenance schedule. Since the cultivar is less susceptible to these diseases, the volume of fungicide applications can be reduced, lowering total operational expenditures while maintaining high yield quality and marketability.
