Tulip Sandeman

Sundeman: Optimizing Professional Tulip Production

In the competitive floriculture market, the Sundeman tulip (Triumph class) serves as a reliable asset for producers looking to streamline their forced-flowering cycles. Its classification as a mid-season bloomer allows for precise supply chain management, ensuring high-quality cut flowers arrive exactly when the market demand peaks.

Robust Health: A Critical Advantage

The primary challenge in high-density greenhouse production is disease management. Sundeman is distinguished by its genetic resilience against the most costly horticultural pathogens:

• High tolerance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt, significantly reducing the need for intensive fungicide application.
• Strong resistance to Cladosporium, ensuring the foliage and stems remain clean and marketable throughout the growing cycle.
• Protection against Tomato Mosaic Virus, allowing for greater flexibility in greenhouse crop rotation.

Operational Efficiency and Market Appeal

Sundeman’s low-growing habit is an agronomic advantage for high-density tray forcing. The plant features a robust, sturdy stem structure that eliminates lodging, facilitating efficient mechanized harvesting and easier post-harvest processing. Beyond its agronomic durability, the bloom stands out due to its striking red-to-lilac color transition, providing a premium aesthetic that appeals to high-end floral designers.

For agricultural enterprises, investing in Sundeman means securing a consistent crop yield per square meter. It is the ideal choice for growers who prioritize low-maintenance cultivation without compromising the high visual standards required for commercial cut-flower sales.
