Tulip Sweetheart

Practical Application of Sweetheart Tulips in Commercial Floriculture

The Fosteriana tulip variety Sweetheart is a preferred choice for professional growers focusing on early-season production. Its genetic profile, combined with robust resistance to the Plum Pox Virus, significantly reduces production risks and post-harvest losses, making it a reliable asset for indoor forcing.

Growing Scenarios and Agrotechnics

• Early Forcing: As an early-blooming variety, Sweetheart is specifically utilized to meet the high demand for spring flowers. Its distinct yellow and white coloration offers high market value for early seasonal marketing campaigns.
• Optimized Production: The medium height of the stems simplifies harvesting and handling processes. Growers find it efficient for crate production, as the plants maintain compact proportions without the need for excessive chemical growth regulators.
• Outdoor Performance: Beyond greenhouse usage, Sweetheart performs exceptionally well in landscape gardening. Its durability against weather fluctuations and viral pathogens ensures consistent aesthetic results in urban greening projects.

The structural integrity of the stems ensures that Sweetheart holds up well during mechanical cutting and transportation, minimizing labor intensity. For commercial operations, this variety translates into lower maintenance costs and a higher percentage of marketable stems per square meter.
