Tulip Hakuun

Stability and Purity: Why Professionals Choose 'Nakuun'

Among the Darwin hybrid tulip group, 'Nakuun' holds a distinct position due to its flawless whiteness and early blooming period. Unlike many other cultivars that may develop cream or greenish undertones as the season progresses, this tulip maintains a crisp, cold white petal color from the moment the bud opens until the end of its life cycle.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

The primary challenge for commercial growers is the susceptibility of bulbs to fungal infections and viruses. 'Nakuun' offers robust natural resistance against:

• Downy mildew (Peronospora), often a devastating factor in high-humidity environments.
• Powdery mildew, a persistent issue in high-density greenhouse or field planting.
• Cucumber mosaic virus, which is critical for maintaining genetic health and variety consistency over several seasons.

These features turn 'Nakuun' into a predictable, low-risk crop, allowing producers to forecast yields with high accuracy and minimize stock losses.

Ideal Application

This hybrid is perfectly optimized for commercial cut-flower production. Its medium height and sturdy stems eliminate the need for secondary netting or support structures, significantly reducing labor and material costs. For landscape architects, it serves as a reliable, bright anchor for spring displays. However, because it is an early bloomer, it requires precise autumn soil preparation, as it focuses its energy on a shorter, more intense growth spurt compared to later-blooming classes.
