Hydrangea Lace

A Success Story in Russian Selection

The 'Kruzhevo' hydrangea stands as a testament to the expertise of Russian breeding, developed by Tatiana Vasilievna Smirnova. Over the years, this variety has carved out a distinct niche for itself among ornamental shrubs suited for temperate climates. Unlike many introduced species, 'Kruzhevo' was engineered specifically to withstand diverse soil and climatic conditions, prioritizing structural resilience.

The Aesthetics of Color Transformation

The core appeal of this variety lies in its dynamic color palette. Throughout its 60 to 90-day flowering cycle, the plant evolves from a subtle, sophisticated greenish tint to pure white, eventually transitioning into soft pink tones. This chromatic metamorphosis ensures the shrub remains a focal point of the garden throughout the entire season.

Landscape Integration

• Specimen Planting: Reaching heights of 150–200 cm, 'Kruzhevo' serves as an impressive standalone feature against a lawn or architectural background.
• Group Compositions: It integrates seamlessly with conifers and various decorative perennial plants.
• Hedges: Its dense growth habit and substantial size make it an ideal candidate for both manicured and free-form hedges that require low intervention.

To maximize the ornamental potential of this variety, planting in slightly acidic soil is essential. Maintaining this specific pH balance is the critical factor in ensuring both the intensity of the color shifts and the sustained health of the root system.
