Hydrangea 'Serenade' is a fast-growing shrub reaching a height of 1.6 to 2.9 m and a width of 1.2–1.5 m, capable of reaching 3 m within 6–7 years. It features large, elongated, rough-textured green leaves with a serrated edge that turn golden-yellow in autumn, adding extra decorative appeal.
The hydrangea flowers have a pyramidal shape and measure 12–15 cm. Inside the cone are sterile (white with four round petals) and fertile flowers in a 1:3 ratio; when fully open they transition from pinkish to cream-white shades. Blooming lasts from late July to mid-October, with a light honey scent.
'Serenada' prefers sunny locations but grows well in partial shade. It requires moist, well-drained soil with slight acidity; however, the plant is drought-tolerant, resistant to waterlogging, smoke, and gases. Hardiness reaches –30 °C, making it suitable for moderate climates. Medium-care cultivation involves moderate watering and removal of fallen leaves. Spacing between plantings should be 2–2.5 m to allow free root system development.
