Tulip Saint Petersburg

Genetic Profile and Selection

The 'Saint Petersburg' tulip is a distinguished representative of the Triumph class, engineered by crossing early-flowering varieties with Darwin hybrids. This synthesis ensures the mechanical strength of the stem while maintaining a distinct, elegant goblet shape that is highly valued in the commercial cut flower market.

Agronomic Performance and Resistance

• Advanced Phytosanitary Defense: The hybrid features a robust genetic profile that offers high resistance to major fungal pathogens, including Alternaria, Anthracnose, and Fusarium wilt. For the grower, this translates into reduced reliance on chemical fungicides and a significant decrease in crop mortality during the growing cycle.
• Structural Integrity: Classified as a medium-height variety, the plant exhibits excellent stem rigidity. This physical durability prevents lodging during high winds or heavy rainfall, ensuring the integrity of the harvest until the moment of cutting.
• Flowering Dynamics: As a mid-season bloomer, this variety optimizes the thermal accumulation of the spring season. The consistent pink pigmentation of the petals is a result of stabilized anthocyanin expression, providing uniform batch quality required for retail and wholesale requirements.

The 'Saint Petersburg' tulip is designed for high-efficiency production. Its ability to balance vegetative growth with generative development makes it an reliable choice for both open-field cultivation and controlled forcing, providing consistent results for professional operations.
