Tulip Saint Tropez

The Aesthetics of Late Flowering: Why Saint Tropez Stands Out

The Saint Tropez variety is a classic representative of double late tulips, occupying a premium niche in the floriculture and landscape design market. Its introduction was a strategic response to the demand for high-density flower heads capable of concluding the blooming season with spectacular, vibrant colors.

Unlike early varieties, Saint Tropez demonstrates outstanding resistance to pathogens, making it a preferred choice for both industrial forcing and open field cultivation. Its genetic resistance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt, combined with immunity to Cladosporium and Tomato mosaic virus, significantly simplifies maintenance and minimizes losses during the vegetative period.

Agrotechnical Profile

• Type: Double Late Tulip.
• Color: Deep, velvet-textured red.
• Dimensions: Medium stem height, providing excellent resistance to lodging.
• Health: Comprehensive resistance to major soil-borne and fungal diseases.

Often referred to as a "peony-flowered" tulip due to its densely packed petals, the bloom resembles peony inflorescences when fully opened. Its market position is firmly in the high-end segment for landscape design and cut flowers intended for luxury arrangements, where long-lasting ornamental appeal is required. Professionals value Saint Tropez for its consistency: with standard irrigation and fertilization, the variety yields a uniform crop in both height and flower quality, which is critical for commercial planning and supply chain reliability.
