Tulip Romeo

Sophisticated Beauty: The Romeo Fringed Tulip

The 'Romeo' tulip has earned a reputation as a hallmark of the fringed, late-blooming category. Its appeal lies in its deep, saturated burgundy color that remains vivid even in bright sunlight. With its distinct, needle-like fringe, this variety adds a refined, crystal-like texture to any landscape, making it a standout choice for gardeners who prioritize both aesthetics and resilience.

Agronomic Traits and Disease Resistance

Unlike more demanding varieties, 'Romeo' is prized by growers for its reliable performance. Its physiological profile is optimized for longevity and resistance, making it an excellent candidate for regions with variable spring climates.

• Disease Resistance: The cultivar exhibits robust natural immunity against Fusarium, Cladosporium, and Powdery Mildew, significantly reducing the need for chemical intervention.
• Growth Habit: With its medium height, the plant is versatile, fitting perfectly into the mid-border of a garden or serving as a professional cut-flower variety.
• Flowering Cycle: As a late-blooming group member, it extends the floral display long after mid-season varieties have faded.

Market Positioning

In the professional market, 'Romeo' is recognized as a high-value asset. Its petal density ensures excellent vase life and durability during transport. For private gardeners, it serves as a bold accent piece; its deep burgundy tone pairs seamlessly with lighter perennials, highlighting the delicate fringe. Whether used in large-scale forced production or small decorative beds, 'Romeo' represents a balance of high-end aesthetics and agricultural reliability.
