Tulip Daytona

Maximizing the Late-Season Market

The 'Daytona' tulip is a fringed variety that serves as a cornerstone for growers aiming to capture the late-spring market. By timing your production to bloom after the peak of standard tulip sales, you can leverage a supply gap, effectively commanding higher prices and ensuring better profit margins for your cut-flower operations.

Robust Health and Production Efficiency

The primary value of 'Daytona' lies in its resilient genetic profile. Its documented resistance to Fusarium and Verticillium wilt, as well as Cladosporium and root-knot nematodes, significantly reduces the dependency on chemical fungicides. For greenhouse management, this translates to lower input costs and a drastic reduction in crop loss during the critical development stage.

• Commercial Appeal: The snow-white, fringed petals offer a high-end aesthetic, making them a preferred choice for professional florists creating bespoke wedding and seasonal arrangements.
• Management ease: With a medium height, this cultivar is ergonomically suited for efficient harvesting and automated or manual packing lines.
• Disease Management: Its resistance to the tomato mosaic virus allows for more flexibility in greenhouse crop rotation and multi-crop setups.

For those running professional cut-flower businesses, 'Daytona' provides a predictable and high-quality yield. It is the ideal candidate for growers who prioritize reliable performance and aesthetic perfection in their spring portfolio, ensuring that each harvest meets the high standards of the wholesale market.
