Tulip Professor De Veer

Classic Elegance in Vibrant Red

The 'Professor de Vreese' tulip, a proud member of the Triumph class, stands as a hallmark of spring garden aesthetics. Its defining characteristic is its impressive height combined with a perfectly structured, firm goblet shape that maintains its integrity even through unpredictable spring weather.

Why it stands out from the competition

Unlike early-blooming varieties that often fall victim to sudden late-season frosts, 'Professor de Vreese' is a late-blooming cultivar. Its robust, sturdy stem stands tall against strong winds, making it a top choice for both professional landscaping and commercial forcing. The rich, deep red pigment of the petals is highly resistant to sun fading, ensuring the color remains vivid throughout its blooming cycle.

Strengths and Considerations

• Pros: Exceptionally strong stem that requires no support; superior vase life for cut flowers; provides a striking visual impact against early-season foliage.
• Cultivation Tips: Like all Triumph tulips, this variety thrives in well-drained soil. In waterlogged conditions, the bulbs can be prone to fungal issues, so proper soil drainage is essential for a healthy crop.

This variety is the optimal choice for commercial flower growers and gardeners who value durability and clean, structural lines. Due to its significant height, it is best placed in the middle or back rows of a flower bed to create a dynamic, elevated focal point in the garden landscape.
