Tulip Professor Penn

Operational advantages of the 'Professor Pänn' Tulip

The 'Professor Pänn' variety, belonging to the classic Triumph category, is engineered for reliability. For growers, this means minimizing risks associated with greenhouse management. Its medium height is a practical asset: the stems are sturdy and proportional, eliminating the need for supportive netting or labor-intensive staking, which significantly reduces overhead during the intensive growth phase.

Key performance indicators

• Blooming Schedule: Classified as mid-season, which facilitates a smooth and manageable harvesting cycle, preventing bottlenecks during the peak sales season.
• Visual Quality: The distinctive red and white petals offer high market appeal. The pigment density ensures the flowers remain vibrant during long-distance transit.
• Maintenance and Care: The variety exhibits high uniformity in growth, which simplifies the sorting and bunching process after harvest.

Maintenance of 'Professor Pänn' is straightforward. It responds consistently to standard fertilization and irrigation protocols, making it a low-maintenance choice for both large-scale operations and smaller intensive plots. The hybrid’s resilience makes it an excellent candidate for forcing, as it maintains a high percentage of saleable stems even under minor environmental variations. For the operator, this variety offers a balance between visual aesthetics and economic predictability, ensuring a high-quality product with minimal post-harvest wastage.
