Tulip Merry Go Round

Reliability meets classic red

The Merry-Go-Round tulip belongs to the Triumph class, making it a firm favorite for both commercial floriculture and private gardens. Its primary appeal lies in the perfect marriage of a classic goblet shape and exceptional resistance to the common pathogens that often devastate bulbous crops.

Health as a competitive edge

Unlike many varieties in this class, 'Merry-Go-Round' exhibits robust immunity to yield-limiting diseases. The variety is highly resistant to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt, significantly reducing the need for intensive fungicide soil treatments. Furthermore, its resistance to Tobacco mosaic virus and Cladosporium leaf blotch makes it a predictable choice for high-density plantings where the risk of cross-contamination is typically elevated.

Key agrotechnical traits

• Bloom Time: Classified as mid-season, it fits perfectly into production schedules to ensure a continuous supply of blooms between early and late varieties.
• Appearance: The high stem makes this variety ideal for professional cut flower production. The intense red pigment of the petals is highly stable, allowing the bud to retain its market-ready quality even under bright sunlight.
• Structural Integrity: The sturdy stem offers excellent resistance to wind and heavy weather conditions.

Who is this for? Merry-Go-Round is ideal for growers targeting the cut flower market and landscape designers looking for a low-maintenance, high-performance red tulip. The minor drawback is the necessity for proper crop rotation; despite its high immunity, consistent monoculture will inevitably deplete soil nutrients over time.
