Tulip Mr. N.J. Buur

Reliability and Production Consistency

For a grower, the "Mr. N.J. Voor" variety offers a predictable output, which is essential for efficient seasonal planning. As a Triumph class tulip, it features a sturdy, upright stem that requires no additional support, whether cultivated in greenhouses or open fields. Its medium height is perfectly suited for standard handling equipment, streamlining both harvesting and packaging processes without the need for constant equipment adjustments.

Harvest Optimization

The vibrant red and orange petals are highly marketable mid-season. What makes this variety a workhorse for the professional grower is its uniform development. When planted in batches, you can expect nearly 90% of the crop to reach maturity simultaneously. This high level of uniformity significantly reduces labor costs, as it minimizes the number of passes through the beds during the harvest cycle.

Maintenance and Management

From an agrotechnical standpoint, "Mr. N.J. Voor" responds very well to controlled temperature management during forcing. The bulb propagation rate remains stable, reducing long-term material replacement costs. Water requirements are moderate and undemanding compared to early or late-blooming groups. Provided that standard fungicide treatments are applied, this variety is resilient against typical bulb diseases, allowing for a consistent yield even if minor agro-background fluctuations occur.
