Tulip Montgomery

A Classic with Character: Montgomery Tulip

Among the late-blooming varieties occupying a niche in professional floriculture, the 'Montgomery' tulip stands as a consistent favorite for landscape design and cut flower production. As a member of the Single Late tulip class, this variety embodies an aesthetic of refined elegance that has remained timeless for decades.

Biological Advantages and Resistance

The primary value of 'Montgomery' lies in its blend of visual brilliance and high resistance to pathogens, which is critical for outdoor cultivation. The variety shows robust resilience against the most common fungal diseases:

• Fusarium Wilt: the root system is highly resistant to Fusarium species, significantly minimizing losses during the planting season.
• Alternaria and Anthracnose: genetically ingrained protection allows the plant to maintain the decorative integrity of its leaves and stems even in conditions of high humidity.

Visual Identity and Application

The hallmark of this tulip is its striking color scheme. White petals with a bold red edge create a dynamic contrast visible from a distance. With its medium stem height, the plant fits perfectly into the mid-tier of flower beds, requiring no staking while maintaining its vertical posture even in gusty winds.

Commercially, the variety is prized for its predictable blooming cycle. It serves as a reliable workhorse for those planning decorative landscaping that demands minimal maintenance while delivering a premium floral display in late spring.
