Tulip Lighting Sun

Biological Immunity and Selection Profile

The Lighting Sun tulip (Darwin hybrid class) is a product of selective breeding focused on commercial durability. The life cycle of this hybrid is built upon genetic defense mechanisms that minimize crop loss risks from soil-borne pathogens. The plant exhibits resistance to Verticillium wilt and Fusarium wilt — critical threats to bulbous crops, particularly in greenhouse environments or high-humidity conditions.

Agrotechnical Specifications

• Classification: Darwin hybrid. These tulips combine a robust architecture with a powerful vascular system, ensuring stem turgor even at significant heights.
• Color Profile: A deep orange hue with high pigment density in the petals, which enhances aesthetic marketability during post-harvest storage.
• Phytosanitary Barrier: Genetic resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV) allows for cultivation without the risk of total crop loss due to viral necrosis.
• Phenology: Mid-season bloom. The optimized balance of root system development and vegetative mass ensures uniform production of marketable bulbs.

Technically, Lighting Sun is engineered for intensive cultivation technologies. Its medium height and sturdy stem provide ideal structural proportions, making it a preferred choice for the cut-flower market. The reduced susceptibility to Fusarium enables more efficient crop rotation and minimizes expenditures on soil fungicide treatments.
