LILAC MIST

The garden chrysanthemum variety 'Lilac Mist' is a medium-sized plant with a height of about 80-90 cm and an upright, moderately foliated bush. Leaves are dark green, compact, lace-like in shape with moderate pubescence. Pedicels are sturdy, with 2-3 lateral branches and a main pedicel about 76 cm long, bearing 8-12 inflorescences. Inflorescences are anemone-shaped, dense, non-double, about 9 cm in diameter, colored lilac with a pink disk center. Pseudoleaves are straight and lilac; tubular flowers are funnel-shaped and lilac-pink. Blooming begins in late October and lasts about a month; flowers retain their decorative qualities in cut form for up to 30 days.

The plant is distinguished by high frost resistance, sun-loving, and shade tolerance, allowing successful cultivation in open flower beds, as well as on balconies and garden plots. The variety is resistant to insufficient moisture, low temperatures, as well as diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for gardeners. Thanks to sturdy pedicels and abundant blooming, the chrysanthemum is suitable for cutting and use in decorative compositions.

For cultivation, it is recommended to use loamy soils rich in humus with neutral or slightly acidic reaction (pH 5.5-6.5). Sowing seeds is carried out in April-May; at temperatures of 15-16 °C, germination takes about 12-16 days. Seedlings are pricked out at the stage of 2-3 true leaves and transplanted into the ground after 40-50 days with a spacing of 15×20 cm. The optimal temperature for growing is 14-16 °C. This approach ensures the formation of strong stems and abundant blooming in August-September, creating an effective decorative accent in the garden.
