Tulip Horizon

Spectacular Classics for Professional Landscapes

The Horizon tulip variety holds a significant place in the segment of late-flowering double tulips, valued for their durability and decorative impact. Unlike early varieties, this tulip is characterized by a denser bud and a tall stem, making it a preferred choice for cutting and landscaping formal flowerbeds. The variety's genetic selection has focused on developing a plant capable of maintaining its commercial appeal even in unpredictable spring weather.

Agrotechnology and Biological Features

One of the key traits of Horizon is its robust immune system. Breeders have successfully achieved high tolerance to a complex of pathogens that often affect bulbous crops. The variety successfully resists:

• Downy mildew (Peronospora);
• Phomopsis and Phoma;
• Sunflower rust, which can spread in the area under unfavorable conditions.

The plant exhibits excellent growth and consistent height, allowing for its use in multi-tiered compositions. The combination of bright red and pure white petals gives the bud a peony-like appearance, ensuring high aesthetic value during the peak flowering period.

Market Reputation

Professional florists value Horizon for its predictability. This variety does not require specific agrotechnical tricks, maintaining its varietal qualities during forcing and in open ground. It is chosen for the premium floriculture segment, where resistance to diseases and the ability of the flower to retain its shape after cutting are paramount. Stable mid-season flowering allows for precise planning of supplies for spring holidays.
