Tulip Holland National

A robust choice among tulips

The Fosteriana tulip 'Holland National' is the ultimate selection for those tired of delicate varieties that lose their charm after the first heavy rain or succumb to soil-borne pathogens. Its Fosteriana heritage provides it with a powerful stem and exceptional resilience, making it a favorite for both landscape architecture and professional cut-flower forcing.

Why this variety stands out

The main advantage of 'Holland National' is the combination of significant height and strong immunity. While other varieties might fail when faced with Fusarium wilt or Verticillium wilt, this tulip consistently produces a dense, vibrant red bloom.

• Immune shield: High resistance to viral and fungal diseases (including Cladosporium and tomato mosaic virus) helps reduce the need for intensive pesticide use.
• Predictable bloom: Its mid-season flowering ensures consistency, which is critical for seasonal sales planning.
• Architecture: The tall, rigid stem eliminates the need for staking, saving time and labor when managing large flower beds.

Who should choose 'Holland National'?

This variety is ideal for landscape designers creating long-lasting displays: the deep red pigment holds up well under intense sun, and the disease resistance allows bulbs to remain in the ground for longer periods without the risk of total loss. For commercial growers, this tulip is prized for its reliability and high-quality cut flower appearance. While its classic Fosteriana shape might seem simplistic to fans of exotic fringe or parrot tulips, 'Holland National' remains unmatched when reliability and vigor are the top priorities.
