Tulip Hofstra University

The Elegance of Late Season Blooms

Hofstra University is a distinguished member of the Single Late tulip category, a variety that embodies the precision of Dutch breeding. Named after the prominent university, this hybrid has earned its reputation in the professional horticulture market due to its structural integrity and sophisticated cream-colored petals.

Agricultural Performance

The primary appeal of this variety lies in its height and the timing of its blooming cycle. As a Late-flowering tulip, it serves as a critical bridge in the gardening calendar, providing a transition between early spring varieties and summer perennials. Its stature allows for dramatic vertical accents in landscape design.

• Disease Resilience: Hofstra University is noted for its genetic resistance to common fungal pathogens, specifically downy mildew (Peronospora), Phomopsis, and Phoma, which substantially reduces the necessity for intensive fungicide programs.
• Market Positioning: Beyond its visual appeal, the cultivar is prized for its rigid, robust stems, which provide excellent structural support against seasonal winds and rain, ensuring consistent results for professional growers.

Whether utilized for commercial greenhouse forcing or outdoor municipal landscape displays, this hybrid maintains the purity of its cream coloration even under prolonged solar exposure. Its reliability and aesthetic consistency make it a preferred choice for monochromatic garden designs and high-end floral landscaping.
