Tulip Grand

Focus on Aesthetics and Durability: The 'Granda' Tulip

For professional growers focusing on forcing or cut flower production, the 'Granda' variety addresses the need for a premium late-season product. As a late double tulip, it is prized for its dense, heavy blooms that resemble peonies. The pink petals possess significant structural integrity, a critical factor for successful transport and prolonged shelf life at the point of sale.

Practical Application in Agribusiness

The 'Granda' variety performs exceptionally well in both open-field conditions and greenhouse environments. Commercial cultivation strategies for this variety typically focus on:

• Extended Harvesting Windows: Its late flowering profile allows growers to bridge the gap in the market, continuing supply once standard early and mid-season varieties have finished.
• Disease Management: Genetic resistance to root rot, downy mildew (peronospora), and powdery mildew reduces the necessity for intensive fungicide applications. This makes the variety robust under high humidity or high-density planting conditions.
• Product Standardization: The medium stem height ensures excellent durability during transit, minimizing stem breakage and reducing waste during sorting and packaging.

This variety is recommended for planting in well-drained soils. Given its resilience to fungal pathogens, 'Granda' delivers stable yields even with the intensive irrigation schedules required to maximize bloom size. It remains a top-tier choice for professionals dedicated to high-quality cut flowers for floral design.
