Tulip Apricot Impression

A Powerhouse of Early Spring

Apricot Impression is a standout in the Darwin Hybrid class, primarily because it defies the conventional timeline for its group. While most Darwin Hybrids are mid-season bloomers, this variety hits the ground running, bringing large, sturdy blooms to the garden significantly earlier. It provides the perfect bridge between early-blooming species tulips and the main spring flush.

Visual Impact

The defining feature of this tulip is its sophisticated apricot hue. Unlike harsher shades, the petals offer a soft, buttery, almost sunset-like glow that transitions beautifully as the light changes throughout the day. The flower structure is classic and symmetrical, opening into a wide, dramatic cup that commands attention in any landscape.

Cultivation Insights

• Performance: As a Darwin Hybrid, it inherits the class's signature vigor. It is notably resistant to viral diseases and shows great resilience against the unpredictable weather typical of early spring.
• Structure: With a high, robust stem, it is a top-tier choice for professional cut flower production. Its durability ensures it holds up well after being harvested.
• Optimal Conditions: This is not a plant for waterlogged soil. Success with Apricot Impression relies heavily on drainage; if the soil is heavy or poorly drained, the bulb is prone to fungal issues during the dormancy period.

This variety is the optimal choice for gardeners who want height and impact without waiting for the late-season bloom. It is less demanding than exotic varieties and offers the reliability that commercial growers require, provided the soil moisture is managed correctly.
