Tulip Big Chief

Reliability and Field Performance

Choosing Big Chief among Darwin hybrids is primarily about operational optimization. As a grower, you receive planting material that does not require constant monitoring for pathogens. Its high resistance to root rot and Fusarium allows you to significantly reduce fungicide costs and spray cycles. Even the risk of corn smut is not a significant concern, making this variety one of the most trouble-free options to manage.

Working Characteristics and Ease of Use

The tall stem is not just an aesthetic advantage but a practical one. Harvesting this crop is significantly faster and more ergonomic than with shorter varieties. Big Chief demonstrates excellent consistency during the mid-season, allowing for a precise and efficient sales schedule.

• Efficiency: minimal need for specific treatments due to strong natural immunity.
• Convenience: tall habit simplifies the cutting and packaging process.
• Stability: consistently high output of marketable flowers with low wastage.

This is a choice for those who value time and risk mitigation. The pink petal color is consistently popular with customers, and the robust behavior of the crop ensures you reach your yield targets without the constant stress of fighting plant diseases.
