Tomato Waterplay

Genetic Potential and Phytosanitary Protection

"Vodograi" is an indeterminate tomato variety bred by the Kyiv Research Station of the UAAS, engineered for optimal performance in both greenhouse and open-field conditions. The technical value of this hybrid lies in its robust immune profile: breeders have incorporated a powerful barrier against a wide array of pathogens. Its complex resistance to verticillium wilt, fusarium, mycosphaerella, brown spot, and tobacco mosaic virus allows for reduced fungicide applications throughout the growing season.

Fruit Morphology and Market Value

The core versatility of this variety is its broad fruit weight range (from 20 to 100 grams), enabling growers to manage harvest outputs through targeted agronomic practices. The aesthetic combination of heart-shaped and cylindrical fruits, featuring bright yellow and orange hues, provides high consumer appeal. With early maturation of up to 90 days, it ensures quick turnover for commercial producers.

Technical Advantages for Producers

• Indeterminate Growth: Supports continuous fruit set throughout the season, essential for prolonged commercial cycles.
• Phytopathological Protection: High resistance to bacterial spot and tomato mosaic virus minimizes crop loss risk during critical growth phases.
• Versatility: The capacity to produce fruits across different weight categories (20-100g) allows for product differentiation, ranging from portion-sized snack tomatoes to those suitable for whole-fruit canning.
