ProVain F1 is an early-maturing tomato hybrid with red medium-sized fruits, developed by BASF under the brand Nunhems. It features a flat, jointless cluster and intensely red fruit, weighing between 130 and 150 grams. Due to its high resistance to diseases and climatic conditions, this hybrid demonstrates excellent shelf life and attractive appearance, making it popular across various growing regions.
ProVain F1 is characterized by high yield, reaching 75 kg per square meter without supplemental lighting, with 99% of the harvest being first-class fruit. It is resistant to powdery mildew, ToBRV (Tomato brown rugose fruit virus), and other pathogens, ensuring stable and high-quality production. These traits enable cultivation of high-quality tomatoes even in organic production without pesticides, which is especially relevant for greenhouse operations in southwestern France and other regions.
The Plant Empowerment philosophy applied by BASF focuses on a holistic approach to plant physiology and balanced cultivation of healthy tomatoes. Thanks to this strategy and the work of a multidisciplinary team, record yields of up to 121 kg per square meter have been achieved. ProVain F1 also exhibits good tolerance to long daylight hours and transport, making it an optimal choice for commercial cultivation and market distribution.
