Tomato L469/160

Field Performance: L469/160 Tomato Hybrid

For any grower working with open-field production, selecting the right seed material is about balancing operational costs with yield consistency. The L469/160 hybrid has proven to be a reliable choice for farmers who prioritize predictable, low-maintenance cultivation cycles.

Operational Handling

The determinate growth habit of this variety is a significant operational advantage. Unlike indeterminate types, L469/160 requires minimal pruning, which drastically reduces manual labor hours per hectare. The plants maintain a compact structure, which optimizes spacing in the field, preventing overcrowding and improving air circulation, which in turn reduces the risk of fungal outbreaks.

Maintenance and Cultivation Tips

• Pruning: Due to its determinate nature, the plant stops growing at a specific point, meaning you won't spend endless time on staking or heavy canopy management.
• Planting Density: When working within the Russian climate, we recommend standard spacing to ensure that each plant receives enough light and moisture without stressing the root system.
• Resilience: The hybrid shows a high tolerance for fluctuations in watering schedules and nutrient application, making it a reliable performer even if operational errors occur.

The L469/160 is a straightforward, heavy-duty variety. It does not require complex interventions, making it an excellent candidate for large-scale operations where efficiency is key. It handles variable weather conditions well, ensuring that the fruit quality remains high despite temperature shifts throughout the growing season.
