Tomato LP-349

Reliable Performance for Russian Field Conditions

The LP-349 tomato variety, bred in Russia, is recognized for its stability in open-field production. For farm operators, this means a predictable harvest cycle with minimal maintenance overhead. It is designed to handle common environmental stressors without requiring overly complex management protocols.

Seed Quality and Germination

The seed material exhibits high germination energy, allowing for uniform seedling emergence. Operators note that this consistency simplifies scheduling for transplanting into the field, reducing the need for gap-filling or reseeding. The seeds are well-cleaned, ensuring efficiency in mechanized planting equipment.

Operational Best Practices

• Resilience to temperature fluctuations: The plant maintains fruit set even during unpredictable day-to-night temperature shifts.
• Simplified canopy management: The plant structure is not excessively aggressive, reducing the time and labor required for pruning and training.
• Nutrient efficiency: The variety responds well to standard NPK programs, focusing metabolic energy on fruit development rather than excessive foliage growth.

LP-349 is highly manageable under standard field conditions. It maintains vitality through moderate moisture deficits, though yield is optimized with consistent drip irrigation. In terms of disease management, the variety shows standard resistance levels to major Solanaceae pathogens. This enables operators to follow routine preventative spraying schedules without the need for excessive chemical input, ultimately keeping production costs efficient.
