Tomato L465

A Reliable Tool for Commercial Tomato Production

L465 is a Russian-bred hybrid developed specifically for large-scale vegetable farming. Growers select this material when the goal is to achieve a uniform, high-yield harvest under variable climatic conditions. The hybrid is engineered to reduce post-harvest losses and streamline logistics.

Field Performance and Operational Benefits

• Mechanization Efficiency: Due to the high fruit firmness and uniform ripening, L465 is perfectly suited for mechanical harvesting. The risk of fruit damage during transit is significantly minimized.
• Stress Resistance: This hybrid exhibits strong resilience to temperature fluctuations and moisture stress, which is essential for open-field cultivation where advanced irrigation systems might be limited.
• Market Standardization: L465 produces tomatoes that meet strict retail sizing requirements. This reduces the need for manual grading on the field, allowing for faster shipment to supermarkets.

Application Strategy

The primary use case for L465 is large-scale production aimed at retail chains that require consistent shelf life and presentation. The seeds perform best when planted in well-prepared soil with a balanced fertilization schedule. During the maturation stage, applying potassium fertilizers is highly recommended to further enhance skin thickness and fruit structural integrity. Agronomists often choose this hybrid for high-volume segments because it maintains its structural quality during storage, providing farmers with greater control over sales timing.
