Description Bosfor
The Bosfor tomato is a medium-maturing determinate variety intended for cultivation in open ground, especially in the North Caucasus region. The plant features medium-sized dark-green leaves and simple inflorescences. The peduncle has a joint, facilitating harvest. The fruit is egg-shaped, slightly ribbed, and firm, weighing between 52 and 100 grams. Immature fruits are light green, while ripe ones turn to a rich red hue. Inside the fruit, there are 2–3 seed cavities. The Bosfor variety is versatile in use: suitable for fresh salads, pickling, whole-fruit canning, and processing into tomato products. The flavor of fresh fruits is rated as good, while pickled tomatoes are rated excellent. Dry matter content in the juice varies from 5.6% to 7.4%, and total sugar content ranges from 2.9% to 4.3%, ensuring a pleasant taste and good product consistency. The Bosfor variety yields 275–397 centners per hectare, with a marketable fruit yield of 92%, indicating high productivity and quality. The variety is resistant to diseases such as verticillium wilt and fusarium, enhancing cultivation reliability and reducing loss risks. Thanks to these characteristics, the Bosfor tomato is an excellent choice for farmers and gardeners seeking a high-quality and flavorful harvest.
