BABUSHKIN PODAROK

The tomato variety 'Babushkin Podarok' is a medium-late hybrid with a ripening period of 120-125 days. The plants are indeterminate, tall, reaching up to 1.8-2 meters in height. Plants require training to a single stem with mandatory removal of suckers and lower leaves, as well as staking for support. Seedlings are recommended for cultivation; seeds are sown at the end of February to early March, and seedlings are transplanted into greenhouses at 50-60 days old, usually at the end of April. Additional supplemental lighting is required during seedling growth, and the soil should be light and fertile with good fertilization. The 'Babushkin Podarok' tomato fruits are flat-round, sometimes slightly ribbed, weighing 170-220 grams. They have a rich red color, sweet taste, juicy flesh with a pleasant aroma, making them ideal for fresh consumption, especially in summer salads, as well as for canning. The variety has high yield — from one plant, you can harvest 4.5 to 5 kg of fruit, and from one square meter — up to 12.5 kg. The variety is resistant to several diseases, including cladosporiosis, tobacco mosaic virus, and fusarium wilt, which significantly simplifies care and increases harvest reliability. It is recommended to grow this tomato in plastic and glass greenhouses, as well as in covered ground. For optimal plant development, they require warmth, good lighting, and regular soil fertilization, which promotes the formation of large and flavorful fruits.
