Tomato Gerash is a medium-maturing salad hybrid with an indeterminate growth type, meaning it continues to produce fruit over a prolonged period. The plant is medium-height, reaching up to 1.5 meters, making it suitable for cultivation in protected soil. Leaves are of medium size and colored green or dark green, and the inflorescences are simple in structure.
The fruits of Tomato Gerash are flat-round in shape, smooth, weighing between 150 to 170 grams. Unripe fruits have a light green color, which turns into a deep red upon ripening. The number of locules in the fruits ranges from three to four, contributing to good flavor and market appearance. The tomato has high market yield, reaching up to 10.6 kg per square meter.
The hybrid is resistant to several diseases, including cladosporiosis, fusarium, and tomato mosaic virus (TMV), and it tolerates heat well, enhancing its reliability under various climatic conditions. Due to the good transportability of the fruits, Tomato Gerash is suitable for commercial cultivation and distribution across different regions.
