Crimson Cylinder is a mid-maturing table beet variety that matures in 110-120 days from the appearance of the first seedlings. This variety is distinguished by high yield and commercial qualities, as well as resistance to diseases and pests, which reduces the need for special preventive measures when standard agronomy is observed. The beet is heat-loving, so it is planted in warmed soil when stable warm weather is established and the threat of frost has passed. For successful cultivation, regular thinning, watering, soil loosening, and fertilization are recommended, while avoiding excess of fresh organic fertilizers to prevent deterioration of the taste of root vegetables.
The root vegetables of the variety have a cylindrical shape, dark red color with a dark purple tint, a diameter of 4-7 cm and a mass from 250 to 600 grams. The flesh is dark red, juicy, without white veins, with excellent taste qualities. The beet is easily extracted from the soil and is suitable both for winter storage and for processing. It is recommended to cultivate on rich, fertile soils with a neutral reaction, and on heavy soils - on beds.
The Crimson Cylinder variety is suitable for cultivation both in personal subsidiary holdings and on farm plots. It is characterized by cold hardiness and resistance to premature flowering, which ensures a stable yield. When grown on separate beds, yield can reach 8-10 kg per square meter, which makes this variety profitable and convenient for various agro-climatic conditions.
