Corn Signet F1 is an early super-sweet hybrid of the SHY type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Seminis. This hybrid is characterized by a short vegetation period — 70-73 days from sowing to maturity, making it one of the earliest representatives of its category. The plant is relatively low, reaching 160-175 cm in height, with a strong green stem and dark green leaves. Due to its adaptability, Signet F1 performs well under various growing conditions, including open ground and greenhouse complexes, and shows resistance to common diseases such as rust and helminthosporiosis. The ears of corn Signet have a cylindrical shape, 19-20 cm long and about 4.8-5 cm in circumference, with 16-18 rows of small, deeply set, rich yellow kernels. The kernels are distinguished by high sugar content, juiciness, and tenderness, providing excellent taste and making the hybrid popular for fresh consumption. Additionally, the ears retain their flavor and market appearance during transport and long-term storage, without cracking or sugar loss. The dense dark green "husk" reliably protects the ears from pest damage. Signet F1 is widely used for both fresh consumption and processing: boiling, canning, and freezing. The crop requires warm conditions for successful ear formation, with an optimal growth temperature of 20-24 °C, and seeds germinate at 10-12 °C. For planting, it is recommended to choose a time when the soil temperature at a depth of 8-10 cm reaches 8-10 °C, with seed depth of 6-8 cm and a density of 5-6 plants per square meter. The hybrid does not require additional seed treatment before planting, simplifying agronomy. Thanks to its combination of high yield, excellent taste, and resistance to adverse conditions, corn Signet F1 is an excellent choice for professional farmers and fresh produce producers.
