Sugarcane corn of the Slovjnka variety is a medium-early crop included in the State Register for the Far East region. Plants have medium height, with ears of weakly conical shape of medium length and colored stalks. The grain is silken, yellow in color, which is characteristic of this variety. Average grain yield reaches 39.5 centners per hectare, and normalized dry matter yield — 100.3 centners per hectare. The variety is resistant to southern helminthosporium, has moderate resistance to northern helminthosporium, but is susceptible to blister rust and corn stem borer. Corn is one of the most important agricultural crops in the world and holds leading positions in terms of importance in food. The Americas are considered the origin of corn, but in Ukraine, active work is being done to increase yield and improve cultivation conditions for this crop. For successful cultivation of the Slovjnka corn variety, it is necessary to avoid excessive planting density and shaded areas, as this may reduce yield indicators. Corn is also valued for its stalks, which serve as excellent animal feed due to high vitamin content and ability to reduce disease risk. Moreover, corn is widely used in various fields, including the production of grit and feed. Special attention is paid to grain quality and its properties, which allows the Slovjnka variety to be used both in the food industry and in agriculture. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptation to regional conditions, this variety contributes to the development of the agricultural sector and ensures stable yield indicators.
