YVS 2 is a simple interline hybrid of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) intended for intensive cultivation. It is characterized by earliness and high oil content, making it attractive for oil producers. The average weight of 1000 seeds ranges from 76 to 90 grams, and plant height reaches 140-160 cm. Fat content in seeds reaches 52.5%, ensuring high oil yield during processing.
The hybrid is resistant to downy mildew and rust, which significantly reduces the risk of crop losses due to diseases. Leaves have a heart-shaped shape, medium size, with no anthocyanin coloring at the edges of young leaves before flowering. The sunflower head is of medium size with a vertical position, and seeds are large, oval-elongated, with a main black color and gray stripes at the edges and sides. Over the years of testing, disease damage was not noted, confirming the reliability of the variety.
YVS 2 is included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements for the Lower Volga region and shows stable yields ranging from 1.32 to 1.84 tons/ha, with record indicators up to 4.20 tons/ha. The hybrid surpasses the standard in terms of seed oil content and oil collection per hectare, making it a profitable choice for agricultural enterprises focused on the production of high-quality sunflower oil.
