Sunflower VULCAN EX

Stable Yields in High-Risk Zones: The Potential of the Vulcan EX Hybrid

Choosing a sunflower variety for regions with significant disease pressure requires a pragmatic approach. The simple hybrid Vulcan EX from Agroplazma was designed as a tool for farms where minimizing pathogen losses without sacrificing oil content is critical. In commercial field conditions, this hybrid delivers consistent results, making it a reliable link in your crop rotation strategy.

Phytosanitary Protection as a Priority

The main advantage of Vulcan EX is its genetic resistance to fungal diseases. Field experience shows that in areas prone to rust and verticillium wilt, this hybrid demonstrates superior survival rates. This allows farmers to reduce their reliance on frequent fungicide applications, lowering the cost per hectare without risking plant stand density.

Agronomic Characteristics and Cultivation Strategy

This hybrid belongs to the medium-maturity group (120–130 days). This is the “sweet spot” that enables the plant to effectively utilize soil moisture. With a stem height of 160–170 cm, Vulcan EX is highly manageable during harvesting; with standard header settings, grain losses are minimal. The medium-sized head ensures uniform seed ripening, which is essential for achieving a high-quality harvest with an oil content of 45–50%.

• Optimal Disease Control: High resistance to rust and verticillium wilt minimizes the risk of crop failure.
• Stable Oil Accumulation: An oil content range of 45–50% ensures favorable market pricing at the elevator.
• Harvest Efficiency: Optimal plant height and morphology simplify logistics during the harvest window.

Vulcan EX is recommended for farms focused on sustainable or intensive agriculture, where protecting the yield from biological threats while maintaining operational efficiency is the top priority.
