Sunflower VS 301 D is a medium-early confectionery hybrid with high yield and excellent agronomic characteristics. The seeds are black with a gray stripe, have good kernel fill and large size, making them suitable for frying and processing into kernels. The recommended seeding rate is 30,000 to 37,000 seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal plant density and stable yield. The hybrid features uniform flowering and high drought resistance, enabling stable results even under adverse climatic conditions. VS 301 D exhibits high resistance to imidazolinone (IMI) herbicides, facilitating weed control and reducing protection costs. The vegetation period of the hybrid is approximately 110 days, with a period from emergence to flowering of about 60 days. Plants reach a height of 170-180 cm, and the head diameter varies from 21 to 23 cm, with a flat, downward-sloping head shape. Oil content in the seeds is at the level of 49-50%, and the kernel percentage is 20-21%. The hybrid's yield potential reaches 53 centners per hectare, with an average yield over test years of 36 centners per hectare. The hybrid VS 301 D exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including fusarium, fusariosis, rust, powdery mildew, gray and white rot, as well as to sunflower moth and sunflower aphid. In addition, it shows high resistance to lodging and seed shattering, contributing to yield preservation and improved product quality. The recommended plant density at harvest is 55,000 to 60,000 plants per hectare in forest-steppe zones and 50,000 to 55,000 in steppe zones, optimizing land use and enhancing production efficiency.
