Sunflower Bombardir

Technical Profile of the "Bombardir" Sunflower

The "Bombardir" sunflower by "Ooo Aktiv Agro" is an intensive ultra-early hybrid designed to minimize climate risks in regions with short growing seasons. Its rapid maturity cycle (90–100 days) allows the crop to avoid late-summer heat stress, ensuring yield stability even under challenging environmental conditions.

Morphological Plasticity

A key engineering feature of this hybrid is its significant growth adaptability, with stem heights ranging from 90 to 170 cm. This plasticity allows the plant to adjust its development based on soil moisture and nutrient availability. Such uniformity is essential for modern combine harvesting, reducing grain losses and ensuring a cleaner mechanical cut during operations.

Phytosanitary Resistance

The genetic blueprint of "Bombardir" incorporates robust defense mechanisms against the most common Eurasian sunflower pathogens:

• Downy Mildew (Peronospora) and Phomopsis: Comprehensive resistance levels help maintain the leaf surface area, essential for photosynthesis through to harvest.
• Phoma: Protection against premature stem decay, enhancing structural integrity.
• Sunflower Moth (Homoeosoma nebulella): Structural features of the flower head make it less susceptible to larval feeding, which effectively safeguards the grain from quality loss.

By combining ultra-early maturity with targeted resistance to key diseases, "Bombardir" provides farmers with a reliable tool for high-intensity cropping systems, prioritizing rapid capital turnover and mitigation of weather-related risks.
