Verona

Verona is a high-quality hybrid sunflower developed by the Ukrainian selection NK 'Gran', intended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including steppes, forest-steppes, and lowland areas. This early-maturing hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to drought, diseases, and stress factors, ensuring stable and high yields ranging from 39 to 54 c/ha. Verona has a high oil content — approximately 50% — making it attractive for oilseed production.

The Verona hybrid is characterized by high tolerance to major sunflower diseases, including resistance to wolf strains ABCDEF, new strains of false powdery mildew, Phomopsis, stem and head sclerotinia, and sunflower moth. The level of drought and stress resistance is rated at 9 out of 10, confirming its reliability under challenging growing conditions. Rapid early growth and high initial vigor contribute to successful adaptation of the plant to various soil-climatic conditions.

Recommended planting density depends on soil moisture levels: under insufficient moisture, 45-55 thousand plants per hectare is optimal, while under adequate moisture, 60-65 thousand. The Verona hybrid is suitable for conventional cultivation methods and ensures stable, high yields and product quality, making it an advantageous choice for farmers aiming for efficient and sustainable sunflower production.
