The Krepysh sunflower variety belongs to the mid-early group and is characterized by a growing period of 89 to 104 days, which allows it to mature evenly. Plant height reaches 151-160 cm, with no branching. The head has a regular shape, flat or slightly convex, with a diameter from 18 to 25 centimeters. Leaves are of medium size, heart-shaped, green in color with slight hollowness and medium serration. Ray florets are yellow, while tubular florets practically lack anthocyanin coloring of the stigmas. Krepysh sunflower seeds are oval-elongated, black in color with gray stripes along the edges. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 65 to 72 grams, indicating a high seed weight. Oil content in seeds is high and reaches 52-54%, making the variety highly oily. Shelling rate is at the level of 22-23%, while oil yield can reach 1.42 tons per hectare. The yield potential of the variety is up to 40 centners per hectare, with an average yield reaching 2.46 tons per hectare and a maximum of 3.15 tons. The Krepysh variety is distinguished by high resistance to shattering and lodging, as well as stability against diseases such as phoma and downy mildew (races A and B). The optimal sowing time falls in the first decade of May, which contributes to achieving maximum productivity. Thanks to its biological features and high yield indicators, this variety is a reliable choice for sunflower cultivation aimed at obtaining high-quality oil.
