Sunflower variety VA 306 is an inbred line of the plant Helianthus annuus L., distinguished by early flowering time and low growth. Leaves of this variety are small, triangular in shape, light green in color without anthocyanin coloring, lacking glossiness and having weak blistering. The stem has moderate pubescence in the upper part, branching is pronounced, and side heads are located on the same level as the central one. The head is small, half turned downwards, with a flat seed side. The seed is medium-sized, elongated and very thin, with a main black color and white stripes, without spotting. Variety VA 306 is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation and recommended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and Ural regions. The originator of the variety is the company Woodstock KFT from Hungary, and permission for use was obtained in 1996. This sunflower has stable characteristics, which makes it in demand for agricultural production in the indicated regions. Sunflower as an agricultural crop is of great significance due to its powerful roots and tall stem, which can reach significant height. Oil obtained from sunflower seeds is widely used in the food and paint industries, and the crop serves as valuable animal feed. Large areas are allocated on elevators for storing the sunflower harvest, which ensures the preservation and quality of the product.
