EFKO 14 is a medium-early sunflower hybrid (Helianthus annuus L.), developed to achieve high yield and stable vegetation period. The plant is characterized by medium or high growth, lack of branching, and medium hairiness on the stem in the upper part. Leaves have a heart-shaped form, green color without anthocyanin coloring, with glossiness and weak blistering. Flowers are yellow, ligule oval-shaped, tubular without or with very weak anthocyanin coloring of the style. The head is of medium size, half turned down, with a convex seed side. The seed is of medium size, oval-elongated shape, black in color with gray stripes, without spotting. The hybrid is included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth Region and showed high yield: average yield in the region is 22.6 c/ha, while maximum indicators reached 38.3 c/ha in individual farms. Average oil content in seeds is 53.1%, which makes EFKO 14 a high-oil variety. Thanks to these characteristics, the hybrid is suitable for use in crop rotations and cultivation in various climatic zones of the Central Black Earth Region. Over the years of field testing, the hybrid demonstrated resistance to most diseases, although susceptibility to white mold is noted. In the North Caucasus region, moderate infection by Phoma is possible. EFKO 14 is recommended for those who value the combination of high productivity, oil quality, and adaptability to growing conditions.
