Sunflower Charodey

Stability of Ukrainian Breeding

The Charodiy sunflower hybrid is the result of long-term work by breeders at the Institute of Oilseed Crops of the NAAS. This solution is designed for agricultural producers who prioritize adaptability and predictability in the specific climate of Ukraine. The development addresses the critical needs of farms operating in areas with high infection pressure.

Biological Shield Against Diseases

The primary value of this model lies in its genetically programmed endurance. The originator has achieved comprehensive resistance to major pathogens that threaten yields in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones:

• High barrier against Alternaria and Phytophthora;
• Effective resistance to root rot;
• Specific protection against Peronospora and downy mildew.

This set of traits allows for a reduction in fungicide usage, directly impacting the cost of commodity production. Charodiy is tailored for intensive farming where stable vegetation and yield potential during dry seasons are paramount.

Market Positioning

Today, this hybrid remains a sought-after option in the domestic medium-price segment. Farmers choose it for its line purity and consistent oil content. It is a strategic choice for those seeking a balance between seed costs and a guaranteed result, backed by decades of research from state scientific institutions.
